Hard to imagine that we would think of anyone using a Palm or PDA as old-fashioned, but those are the devices that started it all, with their simple, reliable resistive touch screens.  More than that, there are millions of commercial handhelds in use in the transportation, supply chain and automation markets, all of which still use a lot of paper.  What better way to help your efficiency than being able to write on either quickly.
